Prickett’s Place is set in landscaped gardens adjoining our own orchard and farm land, built of local stone, parts date back to the early 1700s. Overlooking the wonderful Herefordshire countryside on three sides and ancient woodland to the north, we offer today’s traveller a very special place to stay and a very warm welcome.
Renovated to an extremely high standard Prickett's Place offers all the charms of a country cottage together with the modern facilities we now expect.
Enjoy a game of croquet, skittles or quoits on our lawn, whilst by no means a full sized croquet lawn or perfectly flat, it is a good size and can still be extremely good fun. All games, by Jaques of London, are of excellent quality. A BBQ is also available for those warm summer evenings.
However, if all you wish to do at the end of a perfect day is relax, you are welcome to spend an evening in the sitting room with its cosy wood burner in the inglenook on cool evenings, or sit in the garden listening to the birds and watching the Buzzards soar as you unwind and adjust to Herefordshires pace of life.
A warm and friendly welcome awaits from your hosts, Barbara and Rob where they will immediately make you feel at home. Indeed prior to living in Herefordshire Barbara ran an AA 5 Star Bed and Breakfast , on the outskirts of Bath where she received the prestigious award ' United Kingdom AA Bed and Breakfats Landlady of the year 2001/2', awarded for outstanding hospitality, customer care and attention to detail. The bed and breakfast was also recommended by Which.
Situated mid way between the City of Hereford and the Historic Market Town of Ross on Wye, Prickett's Place is set in the beautiful countryside of the Wye Valley, in the small hamlet of Bolstone where little has changed in over 200 years. It feels like time has stood still and that todays hectic pace of life is a world away, yet the main roads give easy access to the surrounding area. Hereford is only 7 miles away and Ross on Wye 8 miles.
Both double rooms are en-suite and furnished to an extremely high standard, have Freeview digital TV, DAB radio alarm clock and free WiFi. A hospitality tray with a wide choice of teas and coffee, biscuits and fresh fruit is provided. A hair dryer is available in each room.
The beds have excellent fully sprung mattress with a memory foam top layer, continental quilts and electric blankets. Blankets are available if preferred.
The Woodlands Suite also has its own sitting room, complete with a sofa, 32" TV, DVD and a silent refrigerator. This suite can be used as a superb family room, a single bed of excellent quality can be provided still leaving plenty of room for the sofa.
This room can be used as two adjoining rooms making it ideal for friends travelling together or couples who prefer a twin room.
At Prickett's Place we pride ourselves on the choice and quality of our home cooked food and have an AA Breakfast Award and five star food Hygiene Award.
Our 5 course a la carte breakfast menu offers an excellent choice. Home baked bread, home made preserves and our own free range eggs.

Public rights of way begin in our orchard and a pleasant walk is immediately to hand through the 'kissing gate' into ancient woodland. During the latter part of April and into May this woodland is full of bluebells.
There are many beautiful walks in the immediate area, through woodland, along country lanes, across farm land or along the riverside. We have large scale OS maps and many walking guides for you to look through for inspiration.
The quiet Herefordshire roads also give easy access to pretty surrounding hamlets and villages. and also the more well known places such as Hereford, Ross on Wye, Ledbury, Monmouth, Goodrich Castle, The Forest of Dean, Clearwell Caves, The Golden Valley, The Black Mountains and Hay on Wye.
The area also has its share of castles and stately homes, including several National Trust properties.
